A second proof of an image from the series of book illustrations about the Kentish Fenland, I know Kent is all about apples, fruit, hops, oysters and beer but it will all make sense when the project is finished. This image is based on a drawing in one of my art school sketch books. It’s amazing how that particular reference resource keeps on coming in useful, and it goes all the way back to the mid-1960’s. Anyway I’m actually re-using this print in the spirit of the ‘old’ sketchbook image and doing a colour version and all being well that colour image will make an appearance next week before the prints becomes more bucolic with Yorkshire barns and other subjects. So for now you’ll just have to hold onto your bated breath and see what turns up next. I’m excited even if nobody else is.
