Every year I print and produce a Christmas card for Sue and I and most of them have had a Jack Russell Terrier, or Terriers, on them. Jack Russell Terriers are the only breed of dog that we’ve ever owned and their starring role at Christmas has become expected by the recipients of the cards. Whenever I’ve produced a card without them people ask what’s happened to them and tell me to bring them back. Well there’s only one Terrier now having lost Barney to old age, he was seventeen and a half, in January this year. Now, tracking back twenty plus years, our very first Terrier was called Pike and our latest one is also named after the Pike albeit having the Old English name for Pike, Luce, or in Latin Esox Lucius. Anyway here she is Pike fishing with me in a winter Fenland landscape. This year’s cards were all posted this week and their arrival prompted one person to ring me to say thank you and that they had framed all twenty six years of the Christmas cards! I hope they’ve got space for number twenty seven. That’s some collection of Christmas cards and a whole lot of wall space. Meanwhile enjoy your Christmas and have a happy and healthy New Year.
Another lovely card! Have a wonderful Christmas and an
even better 2024…
