The last cut for the first page

The very, very final linocut for ‘Forgotten Fen’ and it’s a map of the area in Kent that is the author’s inspiration for the book. The map isn’t too specific just enough to show the curious the area that is covered by the book. If your curiousity is piqued when you read the book the idea is that you go on your own journey of discovery and walk in the author’s footsteps finding out all about the area for yourself with a trip off the main roads and the beaten track and simply get lost in the unspoilt countryside. Well, after that philosophical ramble on here it is, the linocut map that marks the end of the project for me so just what do I do with myself now? While Jon at Medlar Press carefully puts the book together pulling the text, typography and illustrations into a beautiful book another book is just around the corner as is another set of eight already roughed out cuts of the Norfolk Fenland where I live, this time they’re going to be based on the Fenland landscape as darkness falls. Ghost story anyone?
