I produced the Linocut for a friend to use on the cover of his MA dissertation. The subject was specific, the church in Thompson in South West Norfolk, the oak tree near it and Swifts feasting on the insects around the oak tree and passing by a dog walker with their Springer Spaniel. A small moment of rural village life in South West Norfolk. Now the dissertation has morphed into a small book of nature notes that truly is an engaging and absorbing read. Self-published by Rick Beven, the author, I urge anybody interested in nature writing to try and get a copy for themselves and enjoy dipping into the notes. there’s nothing like viewing the everyday through someone else’s eyes to give you a complete change of perspective.
Your artwork seems perfectly suited to this book. I know the author is pleased.
This book sounds intriguing. I see that it is self-published – which here in the USA generally means Amazon. However, I could not find it there. Please let me know how I might obtain a copy. My grandaughter and I would enjoy such a reading.

Linda, Good to hear from you! I have sent an email to Rick Beven so that he can contact you direct if that is OK. I’m making a scan of the two images that you would like having research Customs and posting, nothing is straightforward any more in this rapidly changing world and it isn’t changing for the better either. I’ve had a month off after telling all my clients that I am now fully retired apart from Medlar Press who is a good friend! Best wishes, John
