Fenland prints. On the skyline

I’ve just completed a test print to try a couple of different methods of applying the ink colours before properly starting the new series of ‘Skyline’ themed prints. The three different methods of ink application have worked absolutely fine although the end result is a variable series of prints because of the inconsistencies and build-up of ink on the blocks, never mind you learn from experimenting and the effects are interesting. Part of the ‘plan’ is to use colour combinations that I would never normally choose and apply them in different ways. Heavy inking, lighter inking and not covering the whole printing surface in ink. Here’s the resulting test linocut with partial inking, the whole block inked and also stencils. Now it’s down to a series of what will probably be a series of six prints once I get the subjects sorted and clarified in my mind and on paper.

Apricot skyline. A linocut printed in four colours on 350gsm Madrid White Litho in an edition of ten. Size 150mm x 150mm. £50.00
