Originally this lino cut was produced for Sue, my wife, as a notelet or postcard except that it folded like a greetings card and was eventually used as a front cover for Waterlog magazine. The image was built around the bridge over the Hampshire Avon at Hale Park where the waving weed gradually gave way to gravel shallows under the bridge, as an aside I caught some lovely Roach there. With me on the bridge are my first two Jack Russell Terriers, Pike, sitting, and Ruffe in his normal ‘I’m bored’ lying down posture. Mind you he may have been lying down looking sleepy and benign but he was always within a millisecond of turning peace and tranquility into complete mayhem.
This post made me smile.
