A year’s end and where some prints end up

A customer kindly sent me these photographs of a print series that he bought from me. He and his wife purchased the entire Fenland Skies series, they’ve had them beautifully framed and then he has carefully hung and displayed them in their kitchen and I think they look really splendid. Co-incidentally we have the same series framed and hung in our kitchen too but in pairs not as singles. The two colour prints started as just one experimental and simple print and then became a series, now I can see another series of Fenland landscapes in my mind but with more complex skies. It’s strange how ideas in the mind are triggered. He also photographed them still in some of their wrapping while he was arranging them on the kitchen table and picked up some reflections in the wrapping film and glass and there’s the trigger for the new ideas and the new series.
