A bit of a blast from the past here, meanwhile I am working on the development of a new series of three based on the Fenland landscapes and the big skies again. This time the skies are going to be more complex and multi-coloured, anyway that’s the plan and hopefully the first print will be completed this coming week. Back to the subject in the photograph. A friend in Holland asked if I still had some cards of floats, he makes floats and beautiful hand-made split cane fishing rods and he wanted them for his workshop. Sadly I didn’t have a full set of prints because they were originally cut and printed about twenty years ago, you run out of prints and the blocks become brittle. However while having a very rare ‘sort out’ and ‘tidy up’ I found the original blocks at the bottom of a box so I reprinted them for Jeroen and now he’s had the reprints framed in natural oak and very good they look too. A nice version of your past coming back to haunt you.
Ooh, I really like those. We had visitors last weekend who were all full of praise for the artwork you produced of our house. Many thanks once again.

Martin, Thank you, your support is much appreciated! In fact those blocks were nearly thirty years old and they didn’t print to badly/

UGH – I realized I’m in a bit of a low mood when I saw these great pictures, because, at first glance (having read ‘surfacing again’) I saw a hand raised out of the water on the top right image. Then I looked again. Like a little Rorschach inkblot – very telling! Great pictures – and the frames suit them perfectly. Linda x

Many thanks Linda, the floats were printed like a Japanese woodcut using water inks. I’m delighted that you like my prints and all the best to you with your migraine problems, it sounds very extreme. Having suffered with cancer, operations and radio therapy you have my sympathy. I will follow your site with interest. Best wishes, John
