The last of the series, in this case one of a pair and I’m not really happy with it although lots of people have liked it but I’d like to redo it. However, I’ve decided to learn from what I feel are the shortcomings and move on to new work and if others like it all well and good. Then there’s Robert Ashton’s new book about soil called ‘Down to Earth’, the cover is complete but all of the cuts for the text of the book, which is still being written, have still to designed, produced and printed. It’s definitely not going to be quiet. We’re going back up to Northumberland this weekend coming and the sketch book and camera will be in the bag to start the information and inspiration gathering process. You can’t beat being retired for a nice quiet life. Oh, and before I forget, ‘Headland’ has nothing to do with the seaside it’s basically the edge of a field or next to a dyke where no crops are grown but plants, reeds and low bushes grow there and get sorted by the farmer after the harvest in preparation for the next crop to sown.

Thank you for your peaceful distractions. It is crazy here. I voted early and participated in a Get out the Vote campaign so I’ve done what I could. Well, except for praying which I plan to do with a large zoom group across the country on Election Day. Please join us, at least in spirit. I am praying for peace and compassion whatever happens. But I’m hoping we will have a woman president come the new year. 😉
