Well I’m back to printing after a five month break and the first topic selected is Roach fishing remembered from years ago in Middlesbrough on the Albert Park Lake, the Tees and very much this swim in the present day on a local West Norfolk River. This first of the series and a three colour print is a very local swim that I fish and where, if you get the right line, you always catch roach. I have so far anyway, but wander away from a precise line with your float swimming through and it seems to change to Rudd, Bream or Perch but that’s part of the fun. And the favourite bait? Bread punch, it always works but you don’t catch many of the Perch on bread.
I have just a swim like that on my Bure John.

Stephen, A lovely thought, I just wish it would rain round here. That green slime is horrible stuff although it has eased a little. Family this weekend but out next week.

This is so inviting………even though I have no idea what a “swim” is and have never heard of (apparently) a fish called a ‘roach’ – but it does not sound appetizing when all I can picture is a bug called a roach. Ugh. They make me shudder. 🙂
