Overprints and accidents

For the fans of the ‘accident and overprint’ coupled with the totally unintentional here’s another heavily layered and overprinted image for you to enjoy. As far as I can remember there are fourteen or fifteen overprints on this solo preparation proof, there could be more but I can neither tell nor remember clearly. The image looks a little bit like nuclear armageddon with the strangely pruned Bramley apple tree resembling a mushroom cloud over the Fenland landscape and the two old Fenmen sitting by a fire drinking their cider oblivious to the holocaust that’s approaching. It’s all interpretation and I’m sure everyone has a different one. Now it’s back to working on the Jack Russell woodcuts and after this one there’ll only be one left to do. Perhaps.

    1. SilverBlack, thank you for your comment. I’ve just printed a metallic on a print I’m working on and tested it on an overprint sheet. very interesting but I don’t know how I’ll use it in the future! Thank you for your support. Regards, John
