Fenland prints

Another print inspired by the West Norfolk Fenland. It is the landscape that I see from my studio window every day looking towards the river and the lock. As a view it isn’t spectacular in any way but it is a subject that I keep going back to and revisiting at different times of the year. Perhaps it’s the comfort of the familiar giving a feeling of security, it’s an ordinary view but there is something really comforting about it, probably because it is familiar and it means home. The crops in the field give a different atmosphere and highlight the particular season whether the field is cultivated for wheat, barley, oilseed rape, pumpkins or sugar beet.
