One of the common sights in the Fens, and in fact in any arable farmland, are the ‘wheelings’ where the tractors and specialist agricultural machinery follow the same route through the crops spraying to stop pests and moulds and suppress excessive weed growth. The farmers I know call them wheelings but I’ve heard these distinctive parallel lines and patterns in the fields called train-tracks and tramlines so take your pick as to which you prefer.
