Angling and watery landscapes

A very early linoprint in three colours that was converted into a family Christmas Card and featuring our very first Jack Russell Terrier, Pike. She used to come pike fishing with me in the depths of winter regardless of the weather conditions, if the conditions became really cold she would ask to go in my basket seat for a sleep once all my gear was lifted out and spread all over the the river bank. She was a bait thief too regarding other anglers’ bait as a secondary food source. In this linocut a pike has taken the bait and Pike is stealing the bait, justifying the print’s title ‘A pike takes the bait’. She would spend the drive home in the passenger footwell curled in her box having made nest out of her blanket. Happy days with a great friend.
