Fenland prints

Last week’s work in progress is finally finished so now it’s on to the next in the series. ‘Vapour trails’ is all about the trails left in the sky by the jets that manoeuvre and race about the Fenland skies, the trails could be made by the RAF Typhoons from Coningsby or the USAF F15s from Lakenheath. On a clear day as the evening draws in they vapour trails are white, then they become yellow and orange before becoming dark silhouettes against the evening sky with the pinks reflecting in the water-filled tracks left by the tractors and other heavy farm machinery. Sometimes there are absolutely masses of condensation trails but at other times they appear in just a small patch of sky showing an area of very localised and frenetic activity, but more on this subject in another print that’s coming up in the series.
